New tape out now on the affiliated Litho label, with perforated 2nd inner flap for use as filter tips…for enhanced enjoyment of #fadbdd.
In 2015 Fuchs inherited a collection of reel to reel tapes and recorders, which had been stored by his friend and neighbour, Martin Ermisch, who had recently deceased at 91 years of age.
The recoders and tapes had belonged to Martin`s son, Bernd Jürgen, who had been a musician and studio owner in Kassel and had passed away in the 90`s.
The tapes contain days worth of unique material recorded in Jürgen`s studio, but also recordings of family events, fieldrecordings as well as radio broadcasts.
All source material from the #fadbdd series was destructively edited from the Ermisch Archive, manually looped and transfered to computer where the loops were then arranged and processed, resulting in warped and wonky, exotica leaning, hip-hop inspired ambience.
Thomas Venker of Kaput-Mag.com talked to Dirk Dresselhaus & Omer Fast about their collaboration for Omer’s movies Remainder & Continuity. To read the interview please go HERE.
You can now listen back to Schneider TM’s duet with Guy Ben-Ary’s cellF, the world’s first neural synthesizer, from this past May at Haus der Kulturen der Welt. Receiving Schneider’s guitar signals, the primitive neural network was able to respond via electrical bursts, which were sonified via a connected synthesizer.
