kptmichigan and son formed around 7 years ago in dörentrup, germany but split due to musical differences. when in mourillon, a suburb of toulon in the south of france in the summer of 2007, they swept aside their old clinch and kicked out the jams. recorded in france, denmark and germany these 8 tracks are drenched with musical genius. fieldrecordings of cicadas and underprivilaged children, pianos played with 4 hands, sleep depravation (sergej), gallons of red wine, a beautiful mother and lover and too much hash (michael) mixed with a bout of sheer joy and happiness make this a complete no bollocks affair.

in co-operation with 17Rec. we proudly present the digital version of Station 17`s Goldstein Variationen 3…….plus a little extra. To put it loosely, Station 17 is an abled and disabled persons music collective. Please go here to hear more, it`s a mighty fine project. Whilst we were in the studio in Hamburg, we managed to record more than a good hours worth of material with Station 17. The Station 17 and Schneider TM song Jede Nacht evolved from these sessions but obviously, there was a lot more material left. We decided to slightly edit and mix the rest and thus, we had the Goldstein Variationen 3 REDUX…….a whole album`s worth of intense freeform sound. Buyers of the physical 12inch will find a coupon inside which enables them to download the digital version plus the redux version for free (of course these are available as downloads without having to buy the 12inch first).

on the 14th of december my good friend and neighbour tommy, in a state of progressing drunkeness, decided i should tatoo his arse. he had the keys to the tattoo parlour he works at and so at around two in the morning we headed off. it was the first time i`d ever inflicted this sort of damage on anyone but it was all done rather profesionally (hygene wise, that is), in good taste and tommy is quite happy with the finished “piece”. and now my other neighbour susen also wants an original kptmichigan gracing her behind…she`s just looking for the right motif. so, if you want one and you`re in the detmold area, drop me line and i`ll see what we can do. oh, and i only do right arse cheeks.

a happy 2009 unto all of you !!!!!! for some reason i have the feeling that this year is going to be a good one.
we are both busy working on all kinds of stuff, together, apart, with others……………………
capitalism will continue to wither out……..that`s why we`ve changed our shop from euros to dollars hehehe.
the human race will continue to act a total twat and will do so til god knows when…..
oh, and obama will be moving into the white house…….let`s see what`ll happen there, could be fun.
basically the same old bollocks as always but in different.

Dirk Dresselhaus (aka Schneider) has just finished the soundtrack for the feature film “66/67” (check out Farbfilm Verleih) by directors Ludwig & Glaser, which will be shown in European cinemas in 2009.
Besides the score, which consists mainly of guitar / drone and noise based improvisations, the soundtrack includes some Schneider TM & FM songs, hilarious oddities such as the 80’s L.A.-hair metal song ‘Hangin’ Around’, the Nina Simone like ‘Construction Site Blues’, some Dub, a re-recorded version of the Hip Young Things song ‘Torrid Souls’, some Indie / Wave / Kraut Rock material (which was partly written for the fictive band Magnetband) and tons of other stuff…
