ANGEL – HEDONISM

in co-operation with Editions Mego (who will release the cd-digipak version, again designed by Stephen O`Malley), we proudly present Angel`s second studio album : Hedonism.

Despite only being released now ‘Hedonism’ is actually the first studio album by Dirk Dresselhaus and Ilpo Väsiänen as duo, a project which started in 1999. 5 years in the making and being started before Hildur Gudnadottir joined forces, ‘Hedonism’ is collision of urban and rural settings.
The opening five blistering tracks retain a full in sci-fi punk feel being made in Dirk’s Berlin studio. Tracks such as ‘Holding Loose’ and ‘Adrenaline Strike’ are brutal urban mantras bristling with energy. These are followed by electro-acoustic exercise manipulating various concrete sources, leading up to the final 2 pieces recorded at Ilpo’s lakeside
cottage in the wilds of northern Finland. Here fragile field recordings of insects, fish eating mosquitos, birds mesh with the duos shiny electronics to create the massive ‘Mirrorworld’. The closing ‘Hornet’ while stating a calm atmosphere has a somewhat startling surprise in store for the listener

dear all,
last thursday (20. 11. 2008) i (kptmichigan) had the honour of joining station 17 on stage for 4 songs. i also had the pleasure of playing an e chord for 7 minutes with michael rother (together with station 17) of NEU! fame which i was also highly excited about (the first tuesday weld album featured a neu! style stomper called “das auf e”).
it was a truly wonderful evening i will never forget. a huge thank you to the station 17 gang for having me along.

– kptmichigan (and not Schneider TM as stated) will be playing with Station 17 (and Neu!`s Michael Rother) at Kampnagel, Hamburg, Germany in presentation of Station 17`s new album.
