a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away………….well, 15 years ago :
Hip Young Things` second and their first self produced album was released on Glitterhouse Records in September 1994 and recorded during the summer of that same year, straight after the band & their engineer Sascha Unversucht had almost finished building the Firehouse Studio during the last 3 months. Explaining why many tools such as a power drill, compressor, accumulator screwdriver and so forth can be heard on the record.

The studio remained unfinished.
The band split up about 16 times during the recording process due to the fact that they all wanted to play different kinds of music. These circumstances had a profound effect on the album….a freaky kind of experimental-freeform-noise-folk-close-to-collapse-indierock-pop accidently evolved from the tense situation. As always, a pain in the arse in the making but a treat for the listener.
Guest appearances can be heard by Markus & Micha Acher of The Notwist, who Schneider met during the Family Affair Tour in spring 1994 and the mighty Volker Backes, old friend and member of The Locust Fudge Band & Me In The Rye.

at the moment, we`re in salavador da bahia, brasil, working on music with 5 local musicians. the plan is to record an album within two weeks and at the end of these two weeks, to play a show. we`ve been in the studio twice up til now and it`s looking good. the concert will take place here :

dear all,
per`s here for a visit from denmark so we grabbed the chance to do a rough recording of this new boogie. the basic tracks were recorded live this afternoon (tuesday 10th feb.) with 4 mics in the cellar……as a power trio…….which was a blast. the rest was then overdubbed upstairs in my room………prog it`s not. it`s the first time in about 8 months that we`ve played together and the first time in about 3 years that we have something that could be called a new song, which feels good.

kptmichigan and son formed around 7 years ago in dörentrup, germany but split due to musical differences. when in mourillon, a suburb of toulon in the south of france in the summer of 2007, they swept aside their old clinch and kicked out the jams. recorded in france, denmark and germany these 8 tracks are drenched with musical genius. fieldrecordings of cicadas and underprivilaged children, pianos played with 4 hands, sleep depravation (sergej), gallons of red wine, a beautiful mother and lover and too much hash (michael) mixed with a bout of sheer joy and happiness make this a complete no bollocks affair.

in co-operation with 17Rec. we proudly present the digital version of Station 17`s Goldstein Variationen 3…….plus a little extra. Whilst we were in the studio in Hamburg, we managed to record more than a good hours worth of material with Station 17. The Station 17 and Schneider TM song Jede Nacht evolved from these sessions but obviously, there was a lot more material left. We decided to slightly edit and mix the rest and thus, we had the Goldstein Variationen 3 REDUX…….a whole album`s worth of intense freeform sound. Buyers of the physical 12inch will find a coupon inside which enables them to download the digital version plus the redux version for free (of course these are available as downloads without having to buy the 12inch first).
