“5” is the new krautfuzz album, released as LP / DIGITAL in collaboration with the experimental US label Erototox Decodings, whose founder Chandra Shukla (aka Xambuca, Travelogue, and formerly a member of Psychic TV) contributed processed electric sitar overdubs to its entirety. Japanese drummer Imari Kokubo, German guitarist Dirk Dresselhaus, and Canadian bassist Derek Shirley started out recording live improvisations, the so called fuzzkraut sessions, at the ZONE Studio, Berlin, in November 2022, and this is the 5th time they performed together. The cover artwork is by visual artist iLan katin, who regularly collaborates with krautfuzz and is responsible for the live video work at krautfuzz shows.
