PRESS :
“‘Guitar Sounds’ is a brilliant experimental guitar album; its fine solos are a self-contained world of clang, scrape, and buzz. However, this is not just a micro-study of guitar capabilities; it evokes a range of emotions too: bliss, foreboding, a poignant awe. This is an album generated spontaneously in the moment but worthy of lasting study and reflection.”

“If you thought Lou Reed’s Metal Machine Music was tricky, throw your ears into this audio maelstrom. I imagine if Reed, Glenn Philips, Lee Ranaldo, Karlheinz Stockhausen and My Bloody Valentine teamed up to make a charity single, this could be the result – an uncompromising soundtrack to someone handing over a small fortune just to make it stop. Superb stuff.”
FLIPSIDE REVIEWS
“Das aufreizend treffend betitelte Album Guitar Sounds des Ex-Bielefelder Ex-Indierockers Schneider TM etabliert eine weitere Kategorie: eine, bei der die onanistische Stromgitarre dekonstruiert, nämlich gar nicht erst als führendes Instrument eingesetzt wird, sondern der Klangentbindung dient.”

This is an album based on field recordings of construction sites that i made between 2001 and 2009 whilst living and working in one of the most vibrant renovation areas of Berlin. The idea for this project came along when i realised that my own, mostly improvised electronic music started to imitate the sounds and structures of the construction sites that i was surrounded by for so many years, up to 15 hours a day, 6 days a week and which drove me to the brink of mental meltdown every once in a while. To keep sane, i started recording and kind of enjoying the sounds and patterns which the construction workers were creating and realised that they consciously or unconciously also used their tools as sound devices and even reacted to each other in ways which could be perceived as improvised music.
On this album i combined some of these moments with my own electronic recordings from that time. I did not edit, process and arrange the music too much, because i wanted these original moments, which were played by the unknown working men and which sometimes reach something that i would call cosmic music, to be heard.
