a while ago kptmichigan was asked to jump aboard for a collaborative effort also featuring jad fair, hifiklub. what they came up with has now been released twice….
once as a 4 track 7″ on the lovely french Les Disques en Rotin Reunis and now it`s seen it`s re-release as a super fancy 5 track 12″ on the indianapolis based Joyful Noise.

the whole thing is limited to 300 copies on transparent gold and yellow vinyl. 5 tracks on one side, screenprint based on a paper cutting by jad on the other.

ANGEL – 26000

Angel is Ilpo Väisänen (Pan sonic) and Dirk Dresselhaus (Schneider TM) who play time-transcending freeform sound, weightlessness and gravity of electromagnetic signals together since 1999.
The 5 tracks describe the last period of a 26000 years long cycle that leads to a new situation on this planet.
26000 was recorded between 2008 and 2010 at Construction Site Studios in Berlin & Ilpo’s cottage in Karttula, Finland and features guest appearences by Hildur Gudnadottir, BJ Nilsen and Oren Ambarchi.
The repertoire of the instruments is very wide: glassbowls, metal objects, pieces of wood, grass, birds, dragonflies, lake echo, smoking box and the regular electronic equipment as well as acoustic instruments.
It’s all good in the tummy, bwoys, because the Black Sabbath parts were totally AC/DC.

dear all,
in march we went to salvador da bahia to participate in the zuckerhut und silberpfeil project. it involved the both of us spending 2 weeks in a studio with people we didn`t know (who turned out to be absolutely lovely) and churning out an albums worth of music. the cd has just been released as part of the catalogue to the multi disciplinary project (artists from all over the world were invited. this incuded installations, music, dance and so forth). catalogue is a bit of an understatement……it`s a massive, heavy brick of a book bound in extremely impresive sugarcane card which looks and feels beautiful.
anyhoo….
here`s one of the tracks we did called sugar jam.

NACTON SUR MER – THE KPT HOLIDAY ALBUM

dear all,
on my summer hols in 2009 i went on the track-a-day scheme.
i only used laptop and headphones, the rule was to only use objects which were in my direct field of view.
i could only work on a track for as long as the battery life of my laptop would allow (1 – 1.5 hours).
the tracks were then immediately uploaded to this blog.
bellow you can stream the whole album in 320kbit quality.
it has since been mixed and mastered.
