Tuesday Weld

Tuesday Weld were formed somewhere around 1991 in Sinsheim by kptmichigan (then still known as MIchael Beckett), Dirk Kretz, Bob Schätzle and Haggy. Being the times they were, the boys were influenced by Dinosaur, Sebadoh, Hüsker Dü, Notwist (when they still kicked ass) and so forth. Along came a Norwegian Horde known as Motorpsycho (also when they still kicked ass) and made it quite clear that a broader sense of musical taste = better music.

Hildur Gudnadottir and Dirk Dresselhaus met each other at Club Transmediale 2004 in Berlin and started to hang out, party, play boccia and record improv-sessions at Dirk’s Constructionsite Studios. Angel

angelIlpo Väisänen (of Pan sonic) and Dirk Dresselhaus (of Schneider TM) have been playing freeform noise with a tendancy to drone things out since 1999. From 2004 on they were joined by icelandic cellist/multiinstrumentalist Hildur Gudnadottir (Lost in Hildurness, Mum etc.) on a regular basis.

SchneiderTM

schneidertmWhile still working as singer, songwriter and guitar player with bands such as Hip Young Things and Locust Fudge, Dirk Dresselhaus started Schneider TM (named after his nickname Schneider) in 1996. He started messing around with a borrowed drummachine and other electronic devices which he sent through his guitar pedals and recorded sessions on 4-track cassette tape. After releasing the first Schneider™ 12“ on Payola (a Weilheim-based Label connected to the scene around The Notiwst) Dresselhaus got the offer to record the first album Moist for City Slang in 1997.
